FOUR People I would follow into the desert...and not worry about getting thirsty

Who would you follow into the desert and not worry that you would go thirsty?  As a communication superhero one of my superpower gifts is to point people in the direction of resources that will make them smarter, faster, better at what they do.

Everyone needs to have their list of people that they turn to for inspiration, motivation and knowledge and today I will share with you my list o'four.  (Feel free to share YOUR list with me in return right here Bravo CC facebook

I love smart people.  I really love smart + funny.  The people that I follow & pay attention to as if my life depended on it are a collection of forward thinking, truth telling, rule breaking trailblazers.  Allow me to introduce you....

Seth Godin
Seth is probably one of the most well known marketing smarty pants out there (I hate the word guru so let's roll with smarty pants here). If you want to meet him for the first time I suggest you begin with Linchpin--the best of all his books.  From there you can work your way back all the way to Purple Cow.  You should follow him on facebook too.  Just click here: Seth Godin Facebook but don't look for him on Twitter--he doesn't tweet.  His blog posts are short, sweet and highly applicable.

Nancy Duarte
If you are going to generate ideas (and you must in order to be successful) then you need to know Nancy Duarte.  Presentation Building Powerhouse, Nancy's two books Slide:ology & Resonate are my Old Testament and New Testament for Presentation Design.   Check out her lovely website here: Duarte Design

Danielle LaPorte
I dig Danielle because she TELLS THE TRUTH and that is a rare find these days.  She cuts through all the crap and gets to the heart of any issue.  Her website White Hot Truth if funky, fun and relevant. Her story resonates for anyone who has decided to go it alone in their business, is a woman and has made a commitment to be there when the school bell rings or has failed and gotten back up and put their boxing gloves back on for another round.  She is a force for "the good".

Malcolm Gladwell
If there is someone who never fails to amaze me with his insights it is the brilliant Malcolm Gladwell.  Malcolm has a loyal cult following of people and I am one of them.  He gives new meaning to the term "geek sheik" and his unruly hair and look is a nice parallel to his mind bending ideas about ideas.  Best known for "The Tipping Point" and "Outliers",  Malcolm is like no one else out there and I highly encourage you to get to know his work.  You should follow him here as a starter Malcolm Gladwell Blog
